Is a superheater a boiler?
A superheater is a vital part of the a boiler system that is used to increase the overall efficiency of a thermal power plant. More specifically, it is a device which converts wet steam (saturated steam) into dry steam as dry steam contains more thermal energy.

What is the difference between a header and a manifold in piping?
Exhaust Manifolds vs Headers
Here are the main differences between the two: Exhaust manifolds feature a single-piece construction, while exhaust headers are made of multiple steel tubes of varying lengths. Headers are made from thin-walled stainless steel tubing, whereas exhaust manifolds are typically made of cast iron or thicker steel.

Working Progress
1. The separated steam is drawn out from the top section of the drum and distributed for process.

2. Further heating of the saturated steam will make superheated steam normally used to drive a steam turbine.

3. Saturated steam is drawn off the top of the drum and re-enters the furnace in through a superheater. 4. The steam and water mixture enters the steam drum through riser tubes, drum internals consisting of demister separate the water droplets from the steam producing dry steam.

5. The saturated water at the bottom of the steam drum flows down through the downcomer pipe.

Product Description:
In order to improve the boiler efficiency, the header boiler is gradually developed into a tube boiler to increase the heat
transfer area. The boiler water flows from the drum to the lower box through the downcomer, and it distributed to each tube bundle by the box. The water in these tube bundles continuously absorbs heat energy, and then flows back to the drum after being collected into the upper header. The upper and lower header are called headers. The header is an important part of the boiler, which is divided into upper header and lower header.
